The Black Belt Candidates from South Elgin, IL National Karate & Martial Arts

On June 8, 2024, a remarkable achievement took place for the students at the South Elgin National Karate School. After years of rigorous training and preparation, a group of dedicated students earned their Black Belts and higher Degrees of Black Belt. The two-and-a-half-hour exam was a true test of their skills, showcasing excellence in fighting, self-defense, traditional forms, pad kicks, paper kicks, and other challenging elements.

The candidates were guided by the esteemed Director and Instructor, Master Michael Drescher, who himself reached an exceptional milestone by earning his 6th Degree Black Belt. Master Drescher’s journey has been nothing short of inspirational, having begun his martial arts training at the age of four. This moment was made even more special by Master Cristian Nelson, who awarded Drescher his 6th Degree Black Belt, reminiscing about presenting him with his white belt 24 years ago.
